Two men have been arrested following police enquiries related to convicted paedophile Neil Foden. The arrests were made following allegations of “non-recent abuse of their position of trust” by conducting inappropriate relationships.
ITV News reported that these arrests were made following North Wales Police investigations related to convicted paedophile Neil Foden. Police have not confirmed a link to Foden but did confirm both men remain under investigation whilst police enquiries continue. Foden, a headteacher with a decades-long career, was jailed for 17 years in 2024 for sexually abusing four girls in north Wales, reports WalesOnline.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “We can confirm that two men were arrested earlier this year following allegations of non-recent abuse of their position of trust by conducting inappropriate relationships.
“Both men remain under investigation whilst police enquiries continue.
“We are working closely with partners to ensure we prioritise the safeguarding of anyone vulnerable whilst our investigations are ongoing.
“Due to this being an active investigation we are unable to comment further.
“We continue to urge members of the public to come forward with information and can give assurance that such disclosures will be taken seriously and progressed.”
ITV News reported that the men who were arrested remain on police bail.
The arrests come as victims of Foden wait for a report following a year-long investigation into the former headteacher by the North Wales Safeguarding Board.
The report’s publication was delayed just hours before it was due to be published last month.
Foden, former head of Ysgol Friars in Bangor and strategic head of Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle in Penygroes, was sentenced to 17 years in prison in 2024 for 19 sexual offences against four girls between 2019 and 2023.
