It is the first time South Africa have featured in a Women’s World Cup Final, while India previously played in the title decider in 2005 and 2017 when they finished as the runners up behind Australia and England respectively.

India will be boosted by the fact that Sunday’s final will be held at the same venue of their memorable semi-final success against Australia, with another large and parochial crowd expected at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
