Two more men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Sheffield dad last month.
Kassim Mohammed, 32, was killed in Watery Street in Upperthorpe on September 30. Several arrests have been made after South Yorkshire Police launched a murder investigation, with a further two men bringing the total to eight people this week.
A spokesperson for the force said an 18-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 28, respectively. Both men have been bailed pending further enquiries.
It follows six arrests made in recent weeks. Five men, aged 20, 22, 27, 31 and 35, and a 31-year-old woman were all arrested on suspicion of murder and have been bailed.
Police say they remain keen to hear from anyone who may have information about the shooting, including those who may have dashcam or doorbell footage. If you have any other information, you can contact the police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 1026 of September 30 2025.
Kassim’s family described him as a “devoted” father who had a “caring” nature. The shooting had left the local community in shock and fear. It was the third shooting in a week in Sheffield, although it is not known if they are linked at this stage.
