Edinburgh police swoop on busy city road after 'youths set off fireworks'

Edinburgh police raced to reports of youths setting off fireworks in the Craigour area on Friday evening.

Officers received a report that a group of youths were setting off the fireworks in vicinity of Moredunvale Road at around 6.15pm on Friday, October 31.

The authorities were able to disperse the youths and there were no reports of any injuries or damage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Around 6.15pm on Friday, 31 October, 2025, we received a report of a group of youths setting off fireworks in the area of Moredunvale Road, Edinburgh.

“Officers attended and the youths dispersed, with no reports of injury or damage to property.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
