A man, who raked in £1m in a single day through his brand, has revealed why he’s chosen Liverpool for his first shop. TikTok sensation Made by Mitchell is set to return to Liverpool with a pop-up store.

The influencer, better known as Mitchell Halliday, has been dropping hints to his followers across various social media platforms for weeks now. The 26-year-old’s makeup brand, famed for its Blursh Balm and Curve Case, has amassed over one million followers thanks to his unique and vibrant looks.

The last time the beauty guru visited the city, hundreds flocked to get their hands on some of his top sellers. He was spotted in four different spots around Liverpool, leaving clues for fans to discover his whereabouts. As of now, details about his next visit are still just as sparse – but he promised fans to watch this space.

Ahead of the opening, Mitchell told the ECHO why it only felt right for him to pick Liverpool for the next step with his brand. He said: “People ask me ‘why Liverpool?’ It’s where Made By Mitchell was born. Where I built the team. Where I did my first ever masterclass at the beginning of my career.

“I’ve always said I was a Scouser in my past life — I love the glam, I love the community. It’s the home of Made By Mitchell. And the Met Quarter is a full circle moment as I used to shop in the MAC store there in my early days.”

The businessman, who has appeared as a judge on BBC’s reality competition show Glow Up, said the store is “well underway” and with just over a week until the doors are open at the Met Quarter, he said the city should “be ready”.

Mitchell founded his brand in 2020 and it wasn’t long before he took the industry by storm. In just one day, mainly thanks to his TikTok shop, the business made £1m. In a separate, week-long campaign, the brand made £2m.

Posting to one of his official accounts about the pop-up store, Mitchell said: “Spending the day organising our first ever pop up store. Liverpool, we are coming”. The video was accompanied with the caption: “Coming soon”. It has been hinted that the pop-up store will be festive.

Until the pop-up shop arrives, make-up fans can continue to buy Made By Mitchell products at Clayton Square Boots. Back in July, the artist came to the shopping destination to promote the collaboration with huge queues once again forming.

He said: “To partner with Boots is a major milestone moment for Made by Mitchell and something we have dreamed of since the beginning.

“Our shared brand values and the unrivalled accessibility Boots can offer, mean that people all over the country now have the opportunity to try our products.

“As a makeup artist myself, being able to shop products in-store, try out different shades and feel the textures has always been so important and I am so excited this will now be an option for our customers nationwide.”
