A man has been arrested after a car crashed into the front of a house. Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to an incident on Saxon Way, Kirkby, earlier this evening following reports of a crash.
Officers arrived at the scene at around 4.40pm on Saturday to find a Seat Ateca had collided with the house.
The occupant of the house was uninjured but “shaken up” by the incident, a spokesperson for the force said. Police carried out a search and located a 38-year-old man from Kirkdale and arrested him on suspicion of a number of offences.
These included failing to stop, dangerous driving, drink driving and failing to provide a drug sample.
He has been taken to a police station for questioning.
Images seen by the ECHO in local Facebook groups appeared to show damage to the front of a house and the suspected vehicle in the front garden. Debris can be seen on the floor around the car.
Merseyside Police told the ECHO: “We have arrested a man following an incident in Kirkby this afternoon, Saturday, November 1.
“At around 4.40pm, officers were called to Saxon Way to reports of a Seat Ateca in collision with a house.
“The occupant was thankfully uninjured but left shaken up.”Following enquiries, a 38-year-old man from Kirkdale was located and arrested on suspicion of multiple offences including failing to stop, dangerous driving, drink driving and failing to provide a drug sample.”
