Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos has gone from strength to strength this season in Strasbourg colours.
During the 2024/25 campaign, Andrey Santos has been in outstanding form for French top-flight club Strasbourg. Even though the Chelsea midfielder is only on loan, he plays every game and is even captaining them in certain matches.
The 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder has been shining for the Blues’ sister club, but fans will hope he’s doing the same at Stamford Bridge next year.
Speaking a few weeks ago, Andrey Santos claimed he’s ready to play for Chelsea ahead of next season. However, fresh reports suggest that Andrey Santos isn’t entirely committed to returning to Chelsea amid transfer interest from various clubs.

On Saturday, Strasbourg recorded a 3-1 victory at home to Saint-Etienne in a league contest.
The result leaves Liam Rosenior’s side sixth in the Ligue 1 table and still firmly in the hunt for Champions League qualification.

Santos started and completed 90 minutes in Strasbourg’s important win over Saint-Etienne. He was impressive again in centre of the park, too.
The central midfielder’s statistics from the league clash stood out in a good way, especially his eight duels won, which was the most of any player on the pitch.

It’s another reminder that Santos is so effective without the ball and does the defensive side of his game very well. On top of that, the box-to-box central midfielder has 10 goals and five assists in 31 Strasbourg appearances this season across all competitions.
Andrey Santos wants to play regularly next season, something that Chelsea should look to offer him because he’s too talented and has too much potential to let go.

Unless something goes wrong in the summer, Santos’ addition to the Chelsea first-team squad next season could be super exciting for the fanbase to watch.
The South American youngster is a midfielder who can do a bit of everything, so we could picture him competing really well with Blues stars Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
Chelsea plan to use Andrey Santos at the Club World Cup in the upcoming summer tournament, where let’s hope he can settle into the senior group and set himself up for a breakthrough year in West London next term.
The success rate of Chelsea transfers has been mixed under the current ownership, but the signing of Santos for £18m (Daily Mail) from Vasco da Gama in 2023 looks like a masterstroke.
