Spain is strengthening its air connectivity for the winter season, with 137.6 million seats scheduled across departures and arrivals, which is 3.5% more than last year, according to Aena data. From 26 October to 28 March, airlines will operate 788,400 flights, with the European market playing a leading role, exceeding 77 million seats.
The United Kingdom remains the main international source market, with 17.8 million seats (+5.7%), followed by Germany, with 10.8 million. This capacity strengthens connections with the destinations which are most in demand among travellers from northern Europe.
The airports of Alicante (+10.2%), Malaga (+6.1%) and Madrid-Barajas (+4.6%) account for the greatest growth, while Reus (+110%) and Murcia (+29.8%) lead the percentage increases.
In total, Spain will have 2,485 routes, almost 2,000 of them international, consolidating its position as one of Europe’s most accessible and attractive destinations to enjoy the sun, culture and gastronomy in winter.
