Best Medicine, the medical comedy-drama based on Doc Martin, has unveiled its first-look trailer. With Martin Clunes confirmed to be making a guest appearance, this is one you won’t want to miss.
The upcoming series follows Martin Best (Josh Charles), a doctor who moves from the bustling city of Boston to a small fishing village on the east coast, with the character taking on a role at a small medical practice.
Based on the beloved ITV series, which ran for 10 seasons across 18 years, Best Medicine sees Clunes appear in a guest role as Martin’s father Robert, who is an accomplished gastroenterologist.

Ahead of its premiere in January, Fox has released the first trailer for the series via the company’s Instagram account, with the brief teaser showing Martin as he settles into his new surroundings.
Despite his hardened demeanour and plenty of medical issues in the local community, Martin gradually comes to like his new home, though the final clip shows that he might not be ready to dish out hugs just yet.

Clunes’s Robert isn’t shown in the teaser trailer, though a previous press release confirmed that the character is a “a headstrong man who makes his stoic son seem warm by comparison”.
