Martin O’Neill could turn to two sure things and one new boy for tonight’s Europa League clash in DenmarkCeltic’s Callum Osmand celebrates scoring his side’s third goal of the game

It’s been a steady Celtic XI for Martin O’Neill so far and he’s unlikely to shake things up dramatically for Midtjylland tonight.

But after watching Kieran Tierney and James Forrest lift the standards after coming off the bench at Hampden, he might just turn to two of his sure-fire things on the road in Europe.

O’Neill has so far picked up where he left off more than 20 years ago with back-to-back wins over Falkirk and Rangers to steady the ship.

But the big games aren’t slowing down for the 73-year-old and, just four days on from that thrilling battle at the national stadium, it’s time to go again against Midtjylland.

Callum Osmand has been added to the Europa League squad after the news that Cameron Carter-Vickers is out long-term and that gives O’Neill another option to choose from up top – and one he will consider after the youngster hit the back of the net at Hampden.

Here’s how we think Celtic should line up.

Predicted Celtic XI

Osmand is available for this one but, after three goals in his last two games, dropping Johnny Kenny would be harsh, not to mention illogical.

In Kelechi Iheanacho’s continued absence, the young Welshman can continue to offer something off the bench while Kenny remains in-form.

Tierney hasn’t started under O’Neill yet but he was arguably the match-winning substitute against Rangers at the weekend. With experienced required on the road, this might be the game to restore him ahead of Marcelo Sarrachi who struggled at Hampden.

Along similar lines, Sebastian Tounekti’s recent form hasn’t been great and subbing him for Forrest was a big part of what got them over the line against Rangers.

Throwing Tierney and Forrest in from the start here will lift the standards on a night experienced heads could be key.
