The Railway, on Birkenhead Road in Meols, opened its doors to customers today (Friday, November 7) with its new and improved look.
Key features of the investment include a complete interior transformation with stylish new furniture, carpeting, and décor. The toilets have also been transformed, providing customers with a sleek and modern new look.

The pub has also made improvements to its sports viewing offering with the introduction of upgraded TV screens and sound systems, providing sports enthusiasts with the latest live fixtures across Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

The Railway’s exterior has also been fully refurbished, with new garden furniture and fencing.

Following its official reopening, guests can experience the Railway’s new food and drinks menus with signature dishes including the classic chicken New Yorker, full monty mixed grill and the tingly tedster burger, alongside a range of pub classics and seasonal desserts such a Baileys caramel profiterole sharer and an indulgent chocolate torte.

To celebrate the relaunch, the Railway invited local residents and treasured regulars Mike and Carol Cotgrave and Arlene Baker to cut the ribbon marking the pub’s official opening.

Mike and Carol have been frequenters of the Railway for more than 40 years, and their two grandchildren have worked behind the bar, while Arlene is a familiar face to locals after dedicating 17 years of her life to working at the pub.

The Railway also donated to local rugby team Hoylake RFC as part of its efforts to support local community initiatives.

The Railway has an new schedule of entertainment planned that locals can make the most of, with a weekly general knowledge quiz every Sunday as well as regular poker and darts events throughout the week.
