A man’s body was recovered at Salford Quays this morning (Saturday).

Police were alerted to a body in the water shortly before 9.20am.

A witness reported seeing a large emergency services presence near the watersports centre.

Specialist crime scene investigation (CSI) teams were spotted along with a private ambulance.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have now confirmed a man’s body was pulled from the water.

Formal identification has not yet taken place and no further details about him, including his name and age, have yet been released.

A GMP spokesperson said: “Emergency services were called to reports of a body in water in Salford Quays at around 9.17am this morning (Saturday 8 November 2025).

“Sadly, the body of a man was recovered from the water.

“Formal identification has yet to take place.”
