Barbora Bukovská convincingly saw off all challengers to claim the junior women’s title at the European Cyclocross Championships in Middelkerke.
The Czech rider, who was second at the World Championships in February, attacked on the second lap. She was pursued by Nynke Jochems, but eventually stretched out her lead to win by 49 seconds in the four lap race.
The Netherlands’ Jochems was second, closely followed by Italy’s Nicole Azzetti, who finished in third 52 seconds behind Bukovská.

Filippo Grigolini leads Italian 1-2 in men’s junior race

Filippo Grigolini won Italy’s second jersey of the 2025 European Cyclocross Championships in Middelkerke, attacking on the penultimate lap to take victory in the junior men’s race.
His compatriot Patrik Pezzo Rosola came in second place to seal an impressive weekend for the Italians, after Mattia Agostinacchio won the men’s under-23 race 24 hours earlier.
Belgium’s Giel Lejeune finished the race in third place.
By the third lap, Grigolini, Pezzo Rosola and Lejeune had separated themselves from the rest of the competition, with a chasing duo 20 seconds adrift.
Grigolini, who was third at the World Championships in February, made a move on lap four of the five lap race, putting 20 seconds into the chasers.
Grigolini powered through the sand on the last lap to take his first win in a major championships.
