A firearms incident in a Birmingham suburb closed a road in what a witness described as a ‘major police incident’.
A number of police vehicles were spotted in Oxford Road in Moseley early on Sunday (November 9) morning.
Police received reports of a man carrying a gun in Oxford Road shortly after 7am.

A number of officers swooped on the scene and arrested a man in his 30s, on suspicion of possessing a gun.
An eyewitness said: “Oxford Road leading to M&S was blocked for a major police incident.
“I saw a number of unmarked police cars and a couple of marked police cars on Oxford Road at the junction with School Road at 9am.
“There was also a removal truck vehicle. Lots and lots of blue lights, and Oxford Road was closed.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called to Oxford Road, Moseley shortly after 7am today (Sunday, November 9).
“We were called to reports of a man carrying a firearm.
“Officers attended and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
“He remains in custody at this time and officers are carrying out further searches in the area today as part of their investigation.”
