Marcus Rashford has reminded Manchester United what they’re missing out on – again. The Barcelona loanee chipped in with a couple of assists as the Spanish champions enjoyed a 4-2 win over Celta Vigo at the Balaidos Stadium on Sunday night.
Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock inside the opening quarter of an hour, beating Ionut Radu from 12 yards. Sergio Carreira equalised a few moments later, slicing through the heart of Hansi Flick’s infamous offside trap.
The veteran striker restored Barcelona’s lead later in the first half, latching onto a delightfully weighted cross from Rashford. Celta Vigo pulled one back, again, with Borja Iglesias smashing the ball past Wojciech Szczesny.
Lamine Yamal gave the Catalan outfit some breathing space at the break, finding the net deep into stoppage time. The United star had turned provider again, picking out the Barcelona wonderkid at the back post.

Lewandowski put the fourth and final nail in the coffin in the second half to complete his hat-trick. With Rayo Vallecano holding Real Madrid to a goalless draw, Flick’s side narrowed their rivals’ advantage in the title race to just three points.
After the game, Rashford marked the occasion with a celebratory post on Instagram, which chalked up almost half a million likes by Tuesday morning. The England international wrote: “Important three points away. We keep working TEAM.”
Among the thousands of fans who liked the post were David De Gea and Bruno Fernandes. Flick was pleased to see an improvement in his side’s general play over the weekend. As quoted by ESPN, the Barcelona boss told reporters: “Yes [I am satisfied].

“I appreciate a lot what I saw today. At the moment, it’s like, especially in the first half, we made some mistakes, more than in the second half, and they use it. Two mistakes for the goals.
“But what I saw, also in first half, we controlled the game. It was a really good match with the ball, and especially in the second half, we defend much better.
“I think the second half gives us confidence also for the next matches. This is what we need. When you can make pressure on the opponent it’s a good way. We did it. I like what I saw, especially in the second half.”

Earlier this month, Rashford vowed to improve his overall performance – and he delivered. Speaking to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo earlier this month, the 28-year-old said: “I try to give my best.
“I could have done better against Elche, and I promise to improve because I’m not entirely happy with my performance overall. We work hard to win. We’re taking it one game at a time.
“We need to keep playing as a team. This is Barca, and the demands must always be at their highest.”
