A “significant quantity of cosmetics” were stolen from a business in Liverpool. Merseyside Police said officers were called shortly after 9am on Friday, November 7, on Tower Street in Brunswick.

It followed a report that a shutter at the premises had been forced open and a significant quantity of cosmetics stolen from inside. Detectives have asked anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Natalie Charlesworth said: “I would urge anyone who is offered cosmetics, jewellery and other items in unusual circumstances or from someone who is not a legitimate seller to report any suspicions.

“If you buy goods that you suspect may be stolen, you are fuelling criminality that leaves businesses out of pocket. These are often businesses employing local people, operating in the heart of our communities and the physical and financial impact of burglary carries a huge cost.

“With Christmas around corner, we know people will be looking for gifts and may well be offered such items.

“If you are, please consider that if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is and could have been stolen.

“If you believe it may be let us know – it could be information vital to our efforts to bring perpetrators to justice and reunite businesses with stolen goods.”

Anyone with information on the burglary, or who has been offered goods they believe may be stolen, is asked to contact Merseyside Police’s social media desk via X @MerPolCC or on Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ with reference 25000841827.
