You could soon cruise the streets like a certain British monarch.

A 2013 Bentley Mulsanne that transported King Charles III will be auctioned off by H&H Classics this December. It is expected to fetch between £80,000 and £100,000 (about $105,000 and $132,000 at the current exchange rate), thanks to that royal provenance and, of course, the Bentley pedigree. (The original suggested retail price for a base model was around $302,425.)

The car originally belonged to Bentley’s Press and Special Vehicles department, from which it was allocated to the British royal family in December 2013. It was used to take His Royal Highness, then the Prince of Wales, to various royal engagements across the United Kingdom.

“For many years Bentley has been the Royal Family’s marque of choice, and luxury cars do not come much finer than the Mulsanne,” Paul Cheetham, senior motor car specialist at H&H Classics, said in a statement.

Named after the famous corner on the 24 Hours of Le Mans racing circuit, the Mulsanne originally debuted in 1980 but was discontinued shortly after in 1992. The first-generation model, which was essentially a badge-engineered version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, was then completely reimagined in the early 2000s. The all-new Mulsanne debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2009, after which the sedan dutifully served as the Bentley flagship for a decade. The marque stopped making the Mulsanne in 2020, meaning rides like the king’s are sure to spark a little nostalgia in the hearts of collectors.

This particular Mulsanne showcases a Dark Sapphire exterior and Magnolia leather interior. It was constructed to an extremely high specification, with original equipment including four-wheel air suspension, burr walnut interior trim, digital radio and television reception, and a power-closing boot. Under the hood lies a 6.75-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 capable of producing 505 hp and 752 ft lbs of torque. The speedy sedan can sprint from zero to 60 mph in about 5.1 seconds and hit 184 mph at full tilt. Not that Charles would have experienced any of that.

The four-door remains in excellent condition throughout, according to the auction house. It has been with the current owner since 2023 and shows just 35,000 miles on the dial.

“Given its royal provenance, this particular Bentley has to be one of the most desirable examples available to own anywhere in the world,” Cheetham said.

The car will go under the gavel at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire on Wednesday, December 3.
