Netweather TV has suggested the weather could take a massive upturn, bringing with it sweltering highs as we head towards May.16 counties in England which will wake up to 29C mini-heatwave this week
As many as 16 counties will roast in this week’s coming heatwave, according to early weather maps and charts from forecasters. Netweather TV has suggested the weather could take a massive upturn, bringing with it sweltering highs – up to 29C – as we head towards May.
May 1 is earmarked as having the potential to be the hottest day of the year so far – and perhaps the warmest since last September, when the UK faces 29C highs. The temperature could break 29C at times this week, forecasters say.
Counties set to benefit, according to Netweather TV, include Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Leicestershire and London as well as Northamptonshire.

Oxfordshire, Surrey, Suffolk, Sussex and Staffordshire could also be set to sizzle. The BBC says temperatures will be slightly above seasonal averages with some rain at first, followed by summer-like temperatures towards the end of April and into May.
A drier trend is still on the cards later in the forecast period, along with temperatures at least slightly above average. However, intermittent cooler and wetter spells are possible.
The Beeb adds: “Tuesday’s update could provide a little more clarity about the likelihood of a cooler snap at the end of next week and into the week after.”
Today, north-west Scotland will see outbreaks of rain. The rest of Scotland and Northern Ireland will be drier with variable cloud. Sunny in England and Wales, with some patchy cloud developing.
Tonight, Scotland and Northern Ireland will see cloud gradually disperse, allowing for clear spells. Clear skies elsewhere. A risk of hill mist and fog in southern Scotland and northern England.
Tomorrow will be a warmer day, with plenty of sunshine for most. Scotland will see lingering cloud, particularly in the north, but it will remain largely dry with sunny spells.
Wednesday will be warmer with plenty of sunshine, although the far north may see showery outbreaks of rain.
Thursday will be cloudy with patchy rain in the north, but the south will be very warm with plenty of sunshine, though a heavy, thundery shower is possible in the south. Friday looks to be another sunny day for most, with outbreaks of rain in northern Scotland.
