A popular city centre bar has undergone a major revamp – and to mark the occasion it’s also adopted a new name.
Still a go-to spot on Oldham Street, the much-loved bar, Wilson’s Social, has relaunched under new ownership and is now going by the name, ‘Wilson’s’.
The bar has kept its name as an homage to local legend Tony Wilson, the Manchester music and media figure who co-founded Factory Records and The Haçienda.
Revitalised by its new owners SmartRentalGroup, its refreshed interiors feature new plush leather booths and bright, contemporary décor.

Manuel Cordero, Country Manager – Portugal, UK & Greece at SmartRental Group said: “Wilson’s has always been part of the fabric of Manchester, and with this relaunch, we wanted to build on that legacy while bringing something fresh to the venue.
“It’s still very much a place for great food, great drinks, and great people – and we’re excited to celebrate with our giveaway, both to mark the relaunch and to pay tribute to our namesake, Tony Wilson.”

Larger plates include Wilson’s Smashburger with bacon, cheddar and house sauce, a hearty Bourbon-Glazed Pork Chop with mash and asparagus, and Stilton, Rocket and Chimichurri Steak served on sourdough toast.
