A man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to Cathedral Street, near the University of Strathclyde library in the city centre, at around 1.40pm on Wednesday, November 12.
Ambulance crews attended and the male pedestrian was rushed to hospital for treatment. His condition currently remains unknown.
Images taken from the scene show a Stagecoach single decker bus stationary within a police cordon.
The windscreen of the vehicle is completely shattered with “a large dent” seen on the glass.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, an eyewitness said: “Police have cordoned off the entry to the road in front and blocked access to vehicles leaving via Stirling road, they are instead leaving via Cathedral Street. There are six police officers on watch on either side of the scene.

“There is a large dent on the front which you can see in the image and there are two stagecoach staff sitting inside the bus”.
Police Scotland confirmed enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash. Stagecoach will also conduct their own investigation as well as assisting officers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.40pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, we were called to a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian on Cathedral Street in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and the male pedestrian was taken to hospital. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
A Stagecoach South Scotland spokesperson said: “We can confirm one of our vehicles was involved in an incident on Stirling Road today.
“Our first thoughts are for the welfare of those affected by the incident. Safety is our absolute priority and we will carry out a full investigation into the circumstances, as well as assisting police with their inquiries.”
