Lorde fans across the UK are eagerly anticipating her live performances as part of the Ultrasound Tour, including her show at Manchester’s AO Arena on Saturday (Nov 15). If you’re one of the fortunate ones with a ticket, you might want to pay attention, as an American fan of Lorde has taken to TikTok to share some insider tips, listing ‘seven things you should know’ if you’re planning to see the Royals singer perform live.

Lauren Schordock, who goes by @laurschor on the app, shared that she camped out for nine hours at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, to secure a spot in the pit for the opening night of Lorde’s tour, so she certainly has some valuable insights.

Unsurprisingly, her first tip is that fans will camp overnight just like she did. She revealed: “I personally arrived at 11:55am and was the 71st person in line, but the first group did have a little sleepover on the sidewalk from about midnight on.”

Lauren’s second piece of advice was that there was no official wristband system from the venue, however, she mentioned that a fan had a Sharpie and was numbering people’s hands. “This allowed people to leave the line and sit in the shade,” she explained.

However, Lauren stated that your place in the queue “didn’t matter” as she claimed the Moody Center decided to let people into the pit “from all doors”.

The third thing to remember, according to Lauren, is that the merchandise stall opens at 4pm. “We headed over there to start a line around 3pm,” she added.

Lauren highlighted that short-sleeved T-shirts were priced at $50 (£38), long-sleeved T-shirts at $60 (£46) and sweatshirts at a hefty $125 (£95). She expressed her disappointment over the lack of venue-specific merchandise, noting that the offerings were identical inside and outside the venue.

She pointed out that although the venue doors were scheduled to open at 6pm, they were admitted “a little after”.

The first supporting act performed from 7pm-7:30pm, followed by the second act from 7:45pm-8:30pm. Lauren advised, “They vary throughout the tour, so check to see who yours are,”.

Interestingly, she noted that the “famous water bottle” mysteriously made its appearance on-stage at 8:37pm, just before Lorde took to the stage at 9pm.

Reflecting on the concert, Lauren shared: “Going to the opening night of the tour was an incredible experience, but the set list and the Lord-esque choreography made this a genuinely fulfilling night.”

She also revealed that Lorde performed a total of 23 songs, including the entirety of Virgin and “plenty of the classics”.

Adding to the excitement, she said: “The confetti was released right before If She Could See Me Now. No spoilers but what she did during Ribs was one of the best concert-going experiences I’ve ever had.

“Best of luck and excited for your lift to shift at the Ultrasound Tour.”

For those planning to catch Lorde in the UK, it’s worth noting that venue systems and timings may differ, as might the cost of merchandise.

What dates is Lorde playing in the UK?

In addition to her performance at Manchester’s AO Arena on Saturday, she will also be gracing the stage at The O2 Arena in London on November 16 and 17, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on November 19, Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on November 20 and Dublin’s RDS Simmonscourt on November 22.

Who will be joining Lorde on her UK tour?

Reports suggest that Blood Orange and Jim-E Stack will be warming up the crowd for Lorde’s Manchester gig, while Nilüfer Yanya and Jim-E Stack are set to perform on selected dates in London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Dublin.
