The City of Wolverhampton Council has been recognised with a national public health award.
The authority was named Employer of the Year by The UK Public Health Register (UKPHR), at the organisation’s innovation awards last week.
Judges praised the team for its “exceptional work” to support practitioners’ development to tackle health inequalities and help people live longer and healthier lives.
Councillor Obaida Ahmed, cabinet member for health, wellbeing and community, said the award recognised the council’s commitment to “nurturing local talent” and “investing in staff”, as well as the team’s strength.
