India’s 14-year-old batting sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, produced an explosive knock in the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament in Doha.

The left-hander from Bihar clubbed 144 off 42 deliveries, reaching his century in just 32 balls for India A against the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Suryavanshi smashed 15 sixes and 11 boundaries at a strike rate of 342. Till his dismissal in the 13th over, only two overs were devoid of sixes. Jitesh Sharma-led India A made a massive 297/4 from 20 overs, with the skipper unbeaten on 83 off 32.

Suryavanshi began the innings with a single but got his fifty off just 17 balls. The Rajasthan Royals opener hit 27 off the 7th over from Mohammed Faraazuddin and treated Harshit Kaushik to a 30-run over.

Suryavanshi recently hit 93 for Bihar in a drawn Ranji Trophy match against Meghalaya. In April, aged 14 years and 32 days, Suryavanshi became the youngest IPL centurion when he smashed a 35-ball ton against the Gujarat Titans in Jaipur. Only Chris Gayle had hit a faster IPL ton (30 balls).

The UAE side is captained by Malayali batter Alishan Sharafu. The 22-year-old with his roots at Pazhayangadi in Kannur is a rising star in the Emirates.
