Bigger and busier than it has ever been, Edinburgh Waverley Station is on an upward path to reach around fifty million passengers a year by 2050. Already, it is well over halfway there. But whether the station is either a marvel of Victorian engineering or an eyesore is a problem over which the responsible authorities cannot make up their mind.
