An easyJet pilot declared a mid-air emergency on a service travelling from Paris to Edinburgh. Flight EZY3242 departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport shortly after 5pm on Friday evening and arrived in the Scottish capital before 6.30pm.

According to flight tracking website FlightRadar24, the pilot transmitted a 7700 code whilst descending, signalling a general emergency aboard the aircraft. Paramedics were on standby for the easyJet aircraft upon its landing.

FlightRadar24 reported: “#U23242 from Paris to Edinburgh squawking 7700 on descent into Edinburgh.”

An easyJet spokesperson told Edinburgh Live: “easyJet can confirm that flight EZY3242 from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Edinburgh on November 14 was met by paramedics due to a passenger requiring urgent medical assistance.”

“The wellbeing of our passengers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority, and our crew are trained to evaluate and respond to medical situations onboard.”
