A major pop star has described a Manchester restaurant as being ‘definitely up there’ with the best following a visit at the weekend.
Forbici, on Cross Street, only opened its doors earlier this year but has already received glowing praise from a number of famous faces who have walked through the doors in recent months.
The Italian restaurant is known for its Neapolitan-inspired creations, which are served alongside a pair of scissors as part of a nod to long-standing traditions in Naples.
Earlier this month, top chef Marco Pierre White visited the city centre restaurant, declaring it as the ‘very best in my life’. The Michelin-starred chef added that his food was ‘deliciously good’, heaping praise on the venue’s staff and Master Baker Davide Argentino.

Following Marco’s top praise, singer, rapper, and music producer Example headed into Forbici for a bite to eat before his support slot at the JLS show at Co-op Live on Saturday night (November 15).
The London-based performer, who is behind hits including Kickstarts and Changed the Way You Kiss Me, recently made it to the semi-final of The Masked Singer and now resides in Australia.
In a post shared on Forbici’s social media, the restaurant wrote: “Uk chart legend @example popped into Forbici before his gig at @thecooplive on Saturday to Kickstart his night with a slice and dropped a live review on the spot. Believe the hype.”
A video clip shared in the post showed the artist, real name Elliot Gleave, talking about the pizza whilst inside the restaurant. Example commented: “I saw the video of Marco chatting the other day. He’s not chatting rubbish.

“I’ve been lucky enough to have the best stuff all over the world. I live in Australia, there’s some decent stuff in Sydney, I’ve been all over Italy, New York, incredible stuff, but this is definitely up there.
“The dough is incredible, it’s extremely well hydrated, it looks massive. Just fluffy clouds and it just goes straight down. The ingredients are incredible, amazing venue, amazing location. I feel very lucky to have experienced it.”
The post clearly proved to be inspiring online, with one person commenting on the video: “Just booked a table, let’s see!”
Example will be back in Manchester next year, with a show at Victoria Warehouse lined up for May 24 as part of his ‘Hits & Bits Twenty Twenty Six’ tour.
.Forbici is on 86 Cross Street, Manchester, M2 4LA.
