More than 80,000 power banks sold online at Amazon.com and in-person at other major retailers are being recalled for fire and burn hazards.

Last week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall of more 83,500 Belkin power bands sold across the U.S. after receiving 15 international fire reports, one fire report in the U.S. and two minor burn injury reports.

In one case, property damage as a result of the malfunctioning power bank totaled $37,765.

“The lithium-ion battery in the power banks and charging stands can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers,” the recall states.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks and charging stands and contact Belkin to receive a full refund or store credit.”

Products were sold at Best Buy, Target, Walmart and other stores nationwide, as well as online by retailers Belkin.com, Amazon.com and TikTok.

They were sold between August 2020 and August 2025 ranging from $29 to $180.

The recall involves phone-charging stands with model numbers MMA008 printed on the bottom of the stand.

It also includes power banks with model numbers BPB002 and PB0003 which are printed on the back, top of the power bank.

Customers who have any of the recalled products are advised to immediately stop using them and contact Belkin to receive a full refund.

Customers are asked to submit photos showing the front and back of the product as well as a recall submission form.

“Do not throw this recalled lithium-ion battery or device in the trash, the general recycling stream (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores,” the recall reads.

“Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries, because they present a greater risk of fire.”

The recall advises customers to follow local guidelines for disposing of the lithium battery products such as municipal household hazardous waste collection centers.
