New Norwich boss Philippe Clement is looking forward to working with Kenny McLean at last – after revealing Rangers DID try to sign him while he was at the club.

The playmaker is in the headlines after his stunning strike from the halfway line to seal Scotland’s spot at the World Cup but now he’s back at his club Norwich as they get to work under Clement.

The Belgian was appointed to replace sacked Liam Manning after their disastrous start to the campaign and will see captain McLean as a key part of his side.

McLean is known to be a Rangers fan and was heavily linked with the club during Clement’s first summer in charge in 2024.

It ultimately came to nothing with McLean knuckling down at Norwich, where he’s now into his eighth season and serves as the skipper.

Clement, speaking in his first press conference, has revealed there was concrete interest from Ibrox while he was the manager – but they were unable to get a deal done.
