A man has been charged after a vehicle flipped onto its roof in a horror crash in Edinburgh.

The motor lost control near Arboretum Place in Inverleith at around 8am on Friday, November 21.

Dramatic photos from the scene show the car lying on the grass beside the road, partially covered in shrubbery. The front of the vehicle appears badly damaged, with the bonnet lifted exposing the engine, and the front bumpers shredded and twisted, Edinburgh Live reports.

The driver was taken to hospital after the crash.

No one else was injured.

Police Scotland confirmed a man had been charged following the crash.

A spokesperson said: “On Friday, 21 November, 2025, officers received a report of a single vehicle crash on Arboretum Place, Edinburgh.

“The driver was taken to hospital.

“A man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
