Michael Obasi was brutally robbed and beaten to death at Perry Hall Park on March 14 last year, by a group of three men and three teenagers.
The 38-year-old, whose body was not discovered until two days later, grew up near the beauty spot and was walking through after visiting his mother on the night he was attacked.

Today, as his killers were jailed for nearly 120 years, Mr Obasi’s partner bravely took to the stand at Birmingham Crown Court to face them.
She said: “Michael was my life partner, future husband, best friend and beautiful father for my son.
“Michael was my everything. He and my son were my whole world. We had our whole life ahead of us.
“We had so many plans to buy our own home, travel, get married, grow old together.
“All ripped away from me in one evening, all from a walk in the park.
“Michael was a kind man who didn’t take anything for granted.
“He appreciated everything, nature, long walks and good health.
“That evening he sent me a video of that park, appreciating the parks of Birmingham.
“The park on the doorstep of his family home where he grew up. A place where he felt safe.”

She continued: “I will never understand why they took him from us.
“Their actions destroyed my family and our future together.
“They treated him like he was nothing. He was everything to us.
“We are now left with a big hole in our lives. My heart is broken and can’t be fixed.
“I am tormented at the thought of what Michael would have gone through that evening because of their actions. He must have been so scared.
“They outnumbered him to steal his things, in the process not only stealing his life but mine and my son’s.
“In his last moments he was surrounded by their hate and violence rather than his loving family around him, holding his hand.”
Michael Obasi was attacked, robbed and murdered in Perry Hall Park in Perry Barr, Birmingham, with six convicted of the killing
She described being left ‘completely destroyed’ and questioning how she could ‘find the strength to keep going and raise our son on my own’.
The devastated mum stated her boy, who was just about to turn two when Mr Obasi was killed, was ‘just an innocent little boy who loves his daddy’.
She added she now had to live with the fact ‘some bad people killed his daddy because they wanted to steal his things’.
Mr Obasi’s mother also took to the stand where she branded her son’s killers ‘vicious, callous and inhumane’.
His sisters also read emotional statements. One said: “The horror of what happened to Michael haunts me every single day.
“My heart aches whenever I think about him and the future that was stolen from him and us.
“I’m tortured by the thought of the violence and pain he endured. No-one should die in those circumstances.
“I just hope he knew he was loved and until the day I die I and my family will carry the unbearable weight of this loss.”
