Elton Edwards, 48, from Tipton has been charged with four counts of theft.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (November 25).

This comes after parcels were stolen from four addresses between October 25 and November 7.

More than £700 of items were stolen.

West Midlands Police said: “We’ve seen a rise in parcel thefts in Smethwick recently and with Christmas just around the corner, we don’t want the festivities ruined by a missing delivery.

“To report parcel theft, you should call 101 for non-emergencies or report it online. In an emergency, such as a crime in progress, dial 999 immediately.”
