First performed at the Royal National Theatre in 2001 (being awarded Best New Play by the Critics’ Circle in the same year), this poignant comedy cleverly parallels and interlaces seemingly disparate themes, from dysfunctional family relationships to beekeeping and theoretical physics. Mirroring the inner thoughts perspective of Hamlet, the lead character Felix, explores the depths of despair, inner turmoil, loss and longing. His return home leads him on a turbulent journey of discovery and revelation, but will he find his unified field theory, the theory of everything – both in the cosmos and his own inner universe?
