Meghan Markle has shared the one trait that her and Prince Harry’s kids have picked up which is very British. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who have spent the majority of their lives in the States.

Harry and Meghan relocated from the UK to the US in 2020 before settling down in Montecito, California, which is now their permanent home. The former royal couple have managed to keep their kids widely out of the spotlight and whilst the two youngsters are rarely snapped, they are even more rarely heard.

The former Suits actress previously disclosed that Archie and Lilibet have an American accent but has now revealed there is one very British thing that they do. Appearing on the new episode of Jamie Kern Lima’s podcast, Meghan was handed a letter from her husband Prince Harry, written on behalf of their kids.

The duchess immediately questioned if it had been in the press, to which Jamie reassured that no one else had seen it before and asked Meghan to read the letter aloud, if she felt comfortable doing so, the Mirror reports.

Reading it out, she said: “From Archie and Lili via Papa. We love your cooking, we love your pancakes, and we love, love, love your hugs. You’re the best mummy and we love you.”

Meghan said the message was “so sweet” and said that her kids were “the greatest”.

She added: “I also love that it’s ‘mummy’, which is very British, instead of ‘mommy.'”

The 43-year-old has previously opened up about her children’s accents and how they still speak like their father, despite growing up in California.

Explaining one of her favourite things about her kids, she said: “Oh, some of the words that they still say with a British accent, so they’ll say z-e-b-r-a and what else do they say?

“They have these little moments where it comes out and because they have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him and I think it’s adorable”.

Devoted mum Meghan also revealed that she has been sending secret letters and saving pictures for her kids to give to them when they’re older.

She revealed that she had been inspired by one of her mum friends who had been sending their kids secret emails.

She said: “I thought it was such a great time capsule to create for them and so I created for the kids these email addresses…that I will give them at some point. “

She added: “Before I go to bed, every night, I email them.

“Maybe when they’re 16, maybe when they’re 18, they will feel ‘she has loved us so much.”

Meghan became visibly emotional as she insisted that her love language for Archie and Lilibet wasn’t about “grandeur” but was more about making sure they see that she always sees them and loves them.
