Two highly popular restaurant chains are preparing to open their first branches in Liverpool next week. Brewski and Great British Doner will be welcoming their first set of customers just in time for the festive season.
Best known for its North American comfort food, Brewski already has establishments in Manchester, Sheffield and Chester. The iconic brand will open in Liverpool ONE on Saturday, December 6, where guests can order its huge meat platters, side plates and various desserts.
The new Liverpool restaurant will boast 5,000 sqft of space and outdoor covers. Brewski was founded by James Daly and Steven Stockton-King, the same two who are also behind American Pies and BIG TRAY BBQ.
The two previously told the ECHO they chose the city as their next site because the pair met at Liverpool University, 20 years ago this year.

They said: “We’ve had the privilege of watching the city grow and thrive in that time with its food scene and culture going from strength to strength. Liverpool ONE has been a huge part of this growth and we are extremely excited that we now get to be a part of it.
“Our aim is to make every menu better, every venue better, which means we are putting all our learnings so far to create the best Brewski yet. The venue will boast 125 covers inside with an additional 78 outdoors on a terrace with panoramic views of the city.”
The new venue will launch with the brand’s signature festive menu. On it will be the “Oh Christmas Tray, Oh Christmas Tray” featuring beef Wellington spring rolls, slow-cooked sage lamb, shoulder-topped garlic butter roast potatoes, festive burgers, as well as Terry’s Chocolate orange truffle balls and sticky Biscoff pudding. The company has previously been listed as Travellers’ Choice by TripAdvisor.

The ECHO also previously reported how Great British Doner has put up signs on Bold Street, teasing customers of its arrival. A grand opening has now been announced for 2pm on Sunday, December 7.
The brand was created by Mehmet Nezir Korkut, a Turkish-born entrepreneur and restaurateur with over 25 years of hospitality experience.
The kebab shop prides itself on selling “next-generation” meals and chocolate doners. Guests can choose from a range of meat toppings, including beef and chicken, as well as vegetarian and vegan options.
The business aims to deliver “restaurant-level quality in a casual format”, with all wraps, burgers and boxes served with fresh salad, as well as house sauces including GBD Sauce, jalapeño cheese, hot chilli, and garlic and herb.

For those who don’t fancy meat, they can opt for halloumi and falafel, alongside a vegan doner, which is made using spiced vegetables and hummus. There will also be an unusual frozen chocolate doner available for dessert – featuring rich chocolate shavings poured on top of a warm pancake.
The brand has been recognised at this year’s TURTA Turkish Restaurants & Takeaway Awards. The awards celebrate the very best of Turkish cuisine across the UK – from traditional ocakbasi grills to innovative modern dining.
Judged by food critics, industry experts, and public nominations, the awards recognise excellence, entrepreneurship, and community impact in the UK’s Turkish food industry. Great British Doner’s Manchester site was praised as being the best newcomer restaurant.
Great British Doner will replace Duman, located at the lower end of the busy street just across from the train station entrance. It officially closed its doors on Sunday, October 12. The Mediterranean-style patisserie opened in 2022, taking over the unit which was once the Mi Vida gift shop.
