Wilfried Nancy has not even been unveiled at Celtic and already it appears that the Frenchman is hard at work.
Nancy is widely expected to be announced as Celtic’s new manager after this weekend after a four-week search by the Parkhead board.
The Frenchman will arrive at Celtic highly recommended as MLS experts and Columbus Crew fans mourn the loss of their manager.
And it seems that Nancy is already hard at work after journalist Stephen McGowan shares what he’s been hearing from Parkhead about the incoming boss.

McGowan appears to have his ear close to what’s happening at Celtic as the journalist shares what Nancy is telling the club scouts.
McGowan told The Scottish Football Podcast, “I believe he’s already kind of started outlining to Celtic scouts, the kind of profile of player that he wants to get in.
“I think what’s interesting is fans are a bit concerned, because by all accounts, he plays a possession-based style of football. And actually, in some ways, it sounds quite similar to the way Brendan Rodgers played.
Wilfried Nancy’s managerial record
- Games in charge: 215
- Games won: 106
- Games drawn: 54
- Games lost: 55
- Win percentage: 49.3%
“And of course, when you come up against a low block and 11 men behind the ball, then that can be difficult to break down.
“So, I mean, he won’t have experienced what he’s going to experience in Scotland in terms of teams really setting up to frustrate Celtic.
“So, that’s going to be fascinating in itself to see how flexible and how kind of imaginative he is to break that down, I think.”
Who will Wilfried Nancy target for Celtic?
It’s no secret that Celtic require reinforcements in the striking department and 67 Hail Hail did suggest that the Hoops should target Diego Rossi.
However, Celtic were told a €10m price tag would be on Rossi’s head should Nancy want to try and tempt the Uruguayan to move to Glasgow with him.
With the January transfer window a matter of mere weeks away, Nancy will hopefully have his sights on a number of new players and, hopefully, the Celtic board will back him immediately.
