The MHA Communities South Leeds team will be preparing Christmas dinners for isolated older people on Christmas Day, but they need some help.

Based at St Andrew’s Community Centre, off Old Lane in Beeston, they are looking for volunteer drivers who can take the meals out to their clients from 11:45am on 25 December.

Communities Manager, Joanne Walsh, said:

“Christmas is a lovely time of year, but it can be very lonely if you are on your own. We can provide a Christmas dinner, but we need help getting them out to those that need them.

“If you are a driver and can spare some time on Christmas morning, we would love to hear from you.

“And if you know anyone who would benefit from a delivered Christmas meal on Christmas Day, please let us know” she added.

The team will be delivering a limited service over the festive period, but there will be drop-in sessions at St Andrew’s Community Centre from 10am-12pm on Christmas Eve and Monday 29, Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 December.
The scheme will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The normal programme of activities will start again on Monday 5 January 2026.
