Manchester United’s latest signing, Cristian Orozco has arrived in Manchester to complete his highly-anticipated move.

The Colombian was expected to sign on the dotted lines in the summer, but there has been a change in plan and he has arrived now itself.

United fans can watch the U17 World Cup star represent his new club only from next season, once he turns 18 owing to Brexit regulations.

The 17-year-old flew to England along with United lead scout Giuseppe Antonaccio. The midfielder has since posted a picture of himself in front of the iconic Old Trafford.

El Diario have claimed that the Colombia U17 international is the “next Moises Caicedo” due to his skillset, which is why the Red Devils went all out to secure his signature.

It is well known how the 20-time English league champions missed out of the current Chelsea ace. And INEOS feel Cristian Orozco is the “leader of a new generation“, which is why they spent $1 million to secure his services.

“United are comparing his potential to that of young Moisés Caicedo, whom they failed to sign a few years ago.

“They see Orozco as a modern defensive midfielder, with aggressive ball recovery, accurate long passes, and emotional maturity rarely seen in a 17-year-old.

Cristian Orozco, the new Caicedo

“Orozco isn’t a “tough” midfielder in the Casemiro style, but he compensates with positional intelligence and good distribution.

“He stands out for his ability to win back possession, accelerate transitions, and remain calm under pressure, more in the style of “Moi.”

The young midfielder plays for Fortaleza CEIF in the Colombian first division. But he is yet to make his senior debut.

There were other teams in the race, but United made sure they got the deal over the line as fast as possible. INEOS’ added focus on the South American market is really starting to pay dividends.
