Furious I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here bosses have caught the celebs with even more banned items. One star has now been discovered with butter at the camp; it’s emerged.

It is not known how it was brought into camp, but insiders say it’s set to have huge repercussions for the group. So far the contestants were already subject to a contraband amnesty, being forced to hand back salt and a bottle of air freshener that were smuggled in.

It’s understood the butter was contained in a small plastic sachet.

The rule breaker, who has not yet been named, will be given “two options” by show bosses to rectify the situation.

Insiders say that “both options – which have not been revealed – would have a huge impact on camp”.

A show source said: “It’s been a day of twists and turns with more contraband found and the consequences of this rule break has rocked the whole camp.”

Show bosses have previously stripped the campmates of a star after Alex Scott was caught smuggling in contraband. The star was seen using salt, which she had sneaked into camp, putting the salt onto the crocodile feet on last Sunday night’s show.

Jungle execs told the campmates they had lost a star won by Aitch in a Bushtucker Trial as a result.

Shona McGarty also admitted smuggling in a bottle of air freshener, which she hid in the dunny.

Stars have also got themselves into trouble in previous years.

Last year, there was a double rule-break involving salt and teabags. Radio host Dean McCullough managed to get tea bags past the show bosses, which he dropped into the morning’s supply of hot water.

There was later a jungle amnesty in which they were ordered to “bring all remaining contraband to the Bush Telegraph to avoid further punishment.” Melvin later confessed he had brought seasoning in also.

There have been countless other incidents over the years.

Gillian McKeith managed to sneak in some banned items when she was on the show in 2010, carrying salt, herbs and some spices into the camp in her underwear.

In 2012 star Hugo Taylor flouted that rule by sneaking a pile of salt and pepper sachets in the bottom of his backpack. Model Amy Willerton managed to sneak in an entire bag of makeup in 2013 -and got away with it for 10 days. TV chef Gino D’Acampo also stuffed his pillow full of contraband.

He said at the time: “I stuffed it with a lot of salt, sugar, four different teas and 10 sachets of coffee,” he said. “I had it in my shoes as well. I thought, ‘If the security guys catch the stuff in the pillow, I still have the stuff in the shoes’.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
