A former Premier League and England footballer was reportedly arrested on suspicion of attempted rape after being apprehended at Stansted Airport, according to reports.
The ex-Premier League star was halted at a passport control point in the airport, where it is understood that his details revealed he was sought by police over a non-recent allegation of attempted rape reported by an ex-partner, reports The Sun.

He was transported to a local police station where his fingerprints were taken, along with a DNA sample and mugshot.
