Meghan Markle could potentially sabotage Prince Harry’s chances of celebrating Christmas with King Charles after allegations emerged that she violated an agreement with the Royal Family.
After stepping down as working royals in January 2020, Harry and Meghan achieved financial independence and pledged to cease performing official duties for the monarchy.
While they relinquished their ‘Royal Highness’ titles and retained their Duke and Duchess of Sussex designations, Buckingham Palace emphasized these should not be used for commercial gain.
Since their withdrawal, the Duke is believed to have maintained limited contact with both his father and older brother. The Sussexes have also continuously criticized the Royal Family concerning their treatment while living in Britain.
In a discussion with Harper’s Bazaar, writer Kaitlyn Greenidge disclosed she escorted the Duchess to a Manhattan home owned by Meghan’s wealthy friend, Victoria Jackson. Kaitlyn alleged the domestic staff member introduced Meghan as the “Duchess of Sussex” despite only two people being in attendance.
Royal experts have voiced shock at this disclosure, indicating it demonstrates how deeply Meghan preserves her ties to Royal status. British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard informed Fox News Digital, “This is not protocol, let alone Royal protocol,” reports the Express.
She went on to say, “It’s peculiar and underscores that Meghan places tremendous value on her Royal status. Meghan will hold onto her Duchess of Sussex title as it gives her a sense of significance. The title remains beneficial for Meghan’s business ventures, especially in the United States. It sparks conversation and keeps her in the spotlight.”
British journalist Jane Moore also took a jab at Meghan for capitalizing on her Royal connections for personal gain, penning in The Sun, “The Sussexes supposedly ‘Megxited’ from the UK five years ago for a life of ‘financial independence’, yet they continue to exploit their Royal connections for their own commercial benefit.”
She further labeled the Sussexes’ use of their “bestowed” titles as “hilariously egotistical and breathtakingly hypocritical.”
This revelation about Meghan being introduced as a duchess follows a report by Closer that Harry is hoping his father will invite him to spend Christmas with him in the UK, as they attempt to repair their relationship.
An insider revealed, “Harry is on tenterhooks waiting to get the go-ahead to visit King Charles in England at Christmas and is adamant that he needs to be with his father any chance he gets.”
There are speculations that this claim about Meghan could irk King Charles and dissuade him from inviting Harry to spend the holiday season with him.
Harry met his father at his London residence in September in an effort to mend their strained relationship. It was their first face-to-face meeting in 19 months.
