Queen Camilla arrived in an especially showstopping piece of headwear: the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. Known to be a favorite of the late Queen Elizabeth, the precious diadem was originally “a wedding present…to the Duchess of York, later Queen Mary, in 1893,” the Royal Collection explains. “In November 1947 Queen Mary gave the tiara as a wedding present to her grand-daughter, Princess Elizabeth.” Camilla has worn the diamond sparkler on several occasions over the last few years.

Studded with rubies and diamonds, the sparkler was frequently worn by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother during her lifetime. The Princess of Wales, who normally favors the Lover’s Knot Tiara, paired the dramatic tiara with a sparkling blue sequin dress by Jenny Packham.

One can always count on Princess Anne to be consistent. For the third state banquet of the year, the Princess Royal chose the Aquamarine Pineflower Tiara. Made by Cartier, the headpiece features emerald-cut aquamarines and diamonds. This tiara also has special meaning for Anne as it was a wedding gift in 1973 from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
