A woman believed to be the exiled daughter of Vladimir Putin has been confronted about the war in Ukraine, video footage shared online appears to show. East European media outlet, Nexta, posted the clip on social media on Wednesday (December 3). It said Yelizaveta Krivonogikh was in Paris when a Ukrainian journalist spotted her.
The same footage includes translated subtitles of a brief exchange between the woman and her interrogator. The Express has not been able to independently verify the video or translation. The subtitles begin with a man behind the camera telling the woman the Russian president “killed” his brother last week.
He then asks: “How do you even live in Europe? In this hateful, cursed Europe, this ‘Gay-rope’. Or what is it like with you people. Say something at least. Do you support his policies?”
The woman, who can be seen wearing a face mask, tries to avoid the camera and walk past it, telling the man he doesn’t have permission to film her, according to the translated subtitles.
Nexta tweeted: “‘Your father killed my brother.’ A Ukrainian journalist encountered Putin’s illegitimate daughter, Yelizaveta Krivonogikh, in Paris. She declined to comment”.
Russian media outlet, Proekt, claimed in 2020 that Miss Krivonogikh bears a resemblance to Putin and that her mother Svetlana Krivonogikh was close to the Russian leader at the turn of the century.
Reports unverified by the Express have said Miss Krivonogikh lives in Paris under the name, Elizaveta Olegovna Rudnova, and has studied at ICART international school of art management.
She is reported to have spoken out against Russia‘s illegal war in Ukraine, condemning the taking of “millions of lives”, according to MSN, citing Telegram posts it attributed to Miss Krivonogikh.
Putin has two daughters with his ex-wife, Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya, who was First Lady of Russia from 2000 to 2008.
Their eldest daughter, Maria Vorontsova, was born in 1985 and studied biology at St Petersburg University and medicine at Moscow State University, according to the BBC.
The Russian leader’s youngest child, Katerina Tikhonova, has enjoyed a more public profile compared with her sister.
She is reportedly in business and academia. Neither she nor her older sister are believed to spend much time with their father.
Both Putin’s daughters were targeted by US sanctions in 2022 after Russian troops were found to have committed atrocities in Ukraine.
