A police cordon was put in place on a residential village street after a woman was found with “serious” head injuries.

The woman was found by paramedics on Westerdale Drive in Keyworth at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 3.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed she was taken to hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.

The force added, in a statement released at 10.30pm on Wednesday, that a police cordon was in place while officers conducted their investigations to establish the circumstances of the incident.

There is no wider risk to the public, police said.

Detective Inspector Kayne Rukas, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “CCTV and other inquiries are ongoing to establish how the woman sustained these injuries.

“Residents will notice an increased police presence in the area while investigations take place but we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.

“Anyone who has any information which could assist officers is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 569 of 3 December 2025.”
