St Mary’s church in Beeston will be filled with Christmas trees again this year as the church partners with Beeston in Bloom to stage the fifth edition of the festival.

With more trees than ever and more opening times, the event is not to be missed. A host of local organisations, South Leeds Life included, will be exhibiting a specially decorated tree, reflecting their activities.

The festival is open to the public on:

  • Tuesday 9 December  |  2:30-4pm
  • Wednesday 10 December  |  10:30am-12pm
  • Thursday 11 December  |  2:30-4pm
  • Friday 12 December  |  2-4:30pm
  • Saturday 13 December  |  10am-12pm
  • Wednesday 17 December  |  10:30am-12pm
  • Thursday 18 December  |  2:30-4pm

The session on Friday 12 December ties in with the Christmas Lantern Festival with children’s activities at the church from 4:15pm before the procession to Cross Flatts Park, led by a real donkey!

One of the organisers, Linda Stanley from Beeston in Bloom, said:

“Beeston in Bloom and St Mary’s church are delighted to be hosting the Christmas Tree Festival again this December. We are pleased that many of the previous entrants are returning and welcome new contributions from Slung Low, Beeston Primary School, Holbeck Together and Beeston Womblers. There are more opening times this year and we look forward to seeing you there.”

Light refreshments will be available in the church for a donation.
