The organising committee have tried numerous incentives to try and increase the audience numbers but with varying success.
Libby Cairns, Chair of East Dunbartonshire HSCP Board, said, “The aim of Spectrum Film Club was to make a night at the movies more accessible for those with additional support considerations from East Dunbartonshire and their families, and it was loved by the people who did attend it.
“However, due to the dwindling audience, the film and venue costs and after a long hard few months of deliberation it has been decided that this month’s showing of The Polar Express will be the film club’s last ever showing.
“I’d like to thank the organising committee and Local Area Co-ordinators for all their hard work over the past three years with the film club.
“A special thanks to the club’s spokesperson Ed who has done an amazing job of introducing each film.
“Thanks also to Jamie for his film introductions and to David and Louise Simmons for their tuck shop contributions – and of course to everyone who regularly attended.
“This last screening will be a celebration of the Spectrum Film Club. Please bring along family and friends, and as it’s Christmas feel free to wear anything festive.”
