Emergency services have closed off part of Salford Quays after a body was tragically pulled from the water. Officers are in attendance outside Salford Watersports Centre this afternoon (December 5).
Several Greater Manchester Police vehicles descended on the area at lunchtime. Multiple fire engines and ambulance service vehicles were also seen in attendance.
A GMP spokesperson confirmed a body had been pulled from the water. Formal identification is yet to take place. Further details about the person found and the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are yet to be confirmed.
Officers have taped off an area of Salford Quays close to the Watersports Centre, with officers seen manning a cordon. The Quays road is closed in both directions from Winnipeg Quay to Salford Watersports Centre, according to Inrix.

A blue forensic tent has been erected at the scene. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it attended the incident to support police.
