The DIY SOS crew have confirmed that equipment stolen from their Welsh renovation project has been retrieved. The team are now Llanberis working on their latest transformative build.

On Saturday, December 6 a production team member from the popular BBC programme had requested assistance after items were stolen over night. The theft occurred during the crucial weekend phase when the team were racing to complete the redevelopment for the programme presented by Nick Knowles.

Noah McIntyre, a member of the production crew, shared on social media: “Unfortunately we’ve had some items stolen up at the house overnight. We have had mixers, wheelbarrows and lights taken.

“This is obviously very frustrating and has held up the start of the build this morning.”, reports North Wales Live.

The incident provoked outrage amongst locals. One resident commented: “Wow, that is low. I didn’t think that would happen here.”

Another remarked: “Absolute disgrace.”

DIY SOS announced that the missing mixers and wheelbarrows had been found and that the project had been successfully finished, thanks to everyone who volunteered labour or materials.

They stated: “We’re pleased to say that the stolen wheelbarrows and mixers have been FOUND. Thank you so much to @northwalespolice for their support over the past couple of days.

“Although the weather hasn’t been in our favour, the community of Llanberis has been amazing, and we’re so grateful to every trade, supplier, and volunteer who has given us their time and skill to complete this build.”

North Wales Police stated: “We are pleased to confirm that the stolen machinery from the DIY SOS site in Llanberis has been recovered and returned.

“An adult male from Llanberis has been arrested and remains in custody at this time. The village can expect an increased Police presence over the coming days while we support the DIY SOS team.”
