Paloma Faith has revealed she’s been hospitalised with the flu after announcing her pregnancy in October.

The 44-year-old singer, who recently appeared on The Celebrity Traitors, has taken to social media to share a picture of her in hospital as she thanked staff for treating her flu.

Sharing a photo of her in a black jumper and wearing a mask, Paloma wrote: ‘Thanks Homerton Hospital for nebulising me for flu.’

Hours later Paloma took to social media again with another post, in which she shared black and white photos of herself, writing alongside them: ‘Pregnancy at 44. Ngl that’s a bit worrying but I’m trying to pretend to myself I’m calm So that eventually that comes true.

‘I couldn’t be more happy about another baby and I’m bracing myself for the storm….’

Paloma already shares two daughters, born in 2016 and 2021, with her ex-partner Leyman Lahcine.

However in 2023 she confirmed they’d split after a 10-year relationship.

She has not revealed who the father of her third child is, however earlier this year it was reported that she was dating Stevie Thomas, the director of a music venue in Birmingham after he joined her at a Brit Awards afterparty.

The singer, who has never revealed her children’s names publicly, has previously spoken about the ‘harrowing’ struggle to conceive.

Before welcoming her daughters, she faced six rounds of IVF treatment, during which she suffered an ectopic pregnancy and a devastating miscarriage, which occurred while she was on set filming the TV series Pennyworth.

‘When we first started trying, I had previously become pregnant quite easily and so I was concerned,’ she told Davina McCall on her Begin Again podcast.

‘It does irritate me that science, because it is mainly dominated by men, is that if it is a male fertility problem, which it was in our case, it is still the woman that has to endure the brunt of the stuff.

‘There has been no breakthrough. He was devastated the whole time and said, “If there’s something I can take, or I can do injections. Why does it have to fall on you?”.

Speaking about the split from her ex, she also once said: ‘You either grow together, adapting to one another like expandable foam and filling the gaps where it’s empty – or one person grows and the other stays the same.

‘And I think for me, becoming a mother was such a massively life-changing experience that for the first time in my life, I needed more than nothing – and the expandable foam just wasn’t there.

What are flu symptoms?

NHS bosses have reported a record number of patients in hospitals after an ‘unprecedented flu wave’ this winter.

Flu symptoms come on suddenly and can include:

Nausea (feeling sick)

A sudden high temperature

An aching body

Tiredness or exhaustion

Dry cough

Sore throat

Headache

Insomnia (difficulty sleeping)

Loss of appetite

Diarrhoea or stomach pain

‘Our relationship ended because we have those children. And I think that was worth it.’

Paloma recently starred in Celebrity Traitors, but was livid when she was ‘killed off’ from the show by none other than her friend Alan Carr, who ultimately went on to win the whole show.

Underneath Paloma’s ‘worried’ pregnancy confession today, Alan posted three supportive love hearts, while Jamie Laing – who just welcomed a baby with Sophie Habboo – did the same.

Announcing her pregnancy news in October, Paloma said: ‘‘Plot twist , mother is mothering (again) #morethangeriatricpregnancy #oappregnancy #oapmilf #18weekspregnant.
