GoSafe has said letters are circulating in the Cardiff area regarding the reduction of speeds in 20mph areas. It has warned against the letters, which purport to have originated from the Wales road casualty reduction partnership.

It has encouraged people to only use trusted sources for information on speed limits, roadside engagement or enforcement.

A statement read: “GoSafe has been made aware of letters being circulated in the Cardiff area regarding reducing speeds in 20mph limits.

“These letters may appear to have originated from the partnership but they have not.

“There are inaccurate logos and contact details and the information used has not been sourced from GoSafe, Welsh policing, the Welsh Government, or any of our partners.

“Whilst we don’t believe there is any malicious intent behind the letters, we would strongly recommend that people only use trusted sources for information on speed limits, roadside engagement, or enforcement.

“This includes official Welsh Government web pages, www.gosafe.org or Welsh police force websites.”
