Horsforth’s finest Old Skool Anthems were in fine form on Saturday night at The Old Kings Arms, with a gig raising money for the 2026 Walk Of Art.

After a special warm up DJ got the crowd in the mood Old Skool Anthems performed a selection of banging 90’s tunes, with a side helping of cheese, with all monies raised from ticket sales going towards next years Walk of Art events.

Kezia Roberts, Old Skool Anthems songstress and one of the organisers of Horsforth’s Walk Of Art told WLD how the money would be put to use.

“Tonight is all about celebrating Christmas in the 90’s,” she said. “I’ve got my mum’s black bin bag full of presents with me ready to give out to all the good boys and girls. We’ve got some goodie bags. It’ll just be an absolute laugh really. We’re playing all the absolute rave and dance anthems of the 90’s.

“The Walk of Art is an annual event in Horsforth, but it’s actually grown its wings a bit, we’ve got people coming from all over the world, which is amazing. It’s an opportunity for artists local and not so local to showcase their art in kind of unusual places around Horsforth. And this is the fundraiser.

“The money raised will go to lots of outreach around Horsforth. The exciting thing about getting money for the walk of Art is that we can pay artists to go into schools because obviously the first that goes is unfortunately the money that goes towards creativities. So there’s less creativity or the opportunity to do creativity in schools.

“So we say nay to that and we send in a lot of our artists into the schools to work with them to create things for the Walk of Art and hopefully they come away thinking ‘I want to do something creative with my life’.

“Over the past ten years we’ve seen it happen again and again and again that if kids have been engaged within creativities and the arts they actually want to do more of it, for themselves, for health. And it’s not just kids it’s adults as well, it’s getting adults involved in creativities. When they say they can’t I’m here to say you can.”

Horsforth Walk of Art is a free creative festival involving and organised by members of the local community. The theme for the 2026 event is “Back to my routes”.

Keep an eye out to for the Christmas Countdown windows around Horsforth. Local churches, groups, businesses and residents have been busy creating festive window displays across the town, with a new one revealed each day up to Christmas Eve, raising funds for the 2026 Walk of Art.
